Our Primary High-Value Species
Some species consistently bring higher returns in the Indiana timber market. Understanding what you have — and how it’s valued — can make a significant difference before selling. We buy a wide variety of hardwoods, but these “Big Three” represent the highest return for Indiana landowners:
White Oak (The Indiana Gold Mine)
Used for everything from whiskey barrels to high-end flooring. We look for straight, clear logs with minimal knots.
Black Walnut (The Premium Veneer)
The most valuable tree in the Indiana woods. A single high-grade Walnut veneer log can be worth more than an entire acre of lower-quality timber.
Black Cherry
(Select Interior Species)
Highly sought after for cabinetry and furniture. Black Cherry thrives in the well-drained soils of Southern and Central Indiana.
